RiverVail Ranch is more than a hunting and fishing preserve. Set on 1,000 acres of lush pasture, woodlands, and pristine trails in Errol, New Hampshire, it is a four-season outdoor destination for families, individuals, and groups of every kind. Whether you are here to hike through bison country, ski groomed trails in winter, join a guided wildlife tour, or immerse yourself in a wellness retreat, the property has the space and the setting for it.

No hunting experience required. No special gear needed beyond what the trails demand. Just 1,000 acres of northern New Hampshire wilderness and the freedom to enjoy it.

A 3% surcharge applies to all credit card transactions. Checks are preferred. All visitors must be off the property by 4:00 pm when the ranch office closes.

Trails and Day Passes

Explore Over 15 Miles of Trails

Over 15 miles of walking, biking, and hiking trails wind through the RiverVail Ranch property. In winter, select routes are groomed for cross-country skiing and snowshoeing. The trails pass through open pasture, along Clear Stream, and near the bison and elk viewing areas. Purchase a day pass at the Roost Clubhouse and go at your own pace.

Guided Wildlife and Property Tours

Book a guided walking or biking tour and let our team bring you through the heart of the property. The 75-minute tour covers the pastures and includes a stop at the wildlife viewing area where you may spot our bison, elk, and red stag herds. Reservations required. Groups of four or more.

Individual and corporate members receive year-round access to all trails, fly fishing, dog training grounds, and recreation without purchasing individual day passes or slot fees. The 10% lodging discount makes extended visits even more affordable.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need a membership to visit?

No. Day trail passes, hunting slots, fishing slots, guided tours, and retreat programs are all available to non-members. Memberships provide year-round access and discounts for those who visit regularly.

What are the operating hours?

The property is open from 7:00 am to 4:00 pm. The last entry is 2:00 pm. All visitors must be off the property by 4:00 pm when the ranch office closes.

Are children welcome?

Yes. Children under 5 receive free trail passes and free fly fishing access. The trails, wildlife viewing, and guided tours are suitable for families with kids of all ages.

Is equipment available to rent?

No. Visitors provide their own bikes, skis, snowshoes, and fishing gear. Contact us if you have questions about what to bring.

Can I book a private group visit?

Is there parking for trailers and boats?

Yes. Ample parking is available for trailers and boats. The Androscoggin River and Lake Umbagog are both within a five-minute drive from the ranch.
